Motorsport Manager Review: Checkered Flag

motorsport-manager-mobile-headerThis September, Motorsport Manager is coming to Steam as a rather impressive looking and much enhanced port. It’ll be the same style of game at its core but will turn the graphics up to 11 and make some aspects of the simulation much more realistic including production of parts, rules charges, calendar changes and more. While the underpinnings of Motorsport Manager won’t change, a lot of it will be upgraded from the mobile game.

But what about that mobile game? I’ve been playing it for a while now and while it’s not quite Football Manager levels of complex, it’s certainly the best management game for motorsport fans I’ve ever played.

Game of Thrones: The Winds of Winter Review

game-of-thrones-the-winds-of-winter-headerWhat is hype may never die. There were a lot of loose plot threads heading into this season’s finale. Not only were they paid off spectacularly but we are set up for the stretch run of Game of Thrones with a series of mic drops as the episode came to an end.

Game of Thrones: Battle of the Bastards Review

game-of-thrones-battle-of-the-bastards-headerSure, Game of Thrones is at its best when it tells a story and focuses on its characters. However, the show also has this expectation that the ninth episode will wow us. This season’s ninth episode brings us the biggest and most expensive battle in the show’s history as the forces of Jon Snow and Ramsay Bolton did battle for control of Winterfell and the North. And, yes, it was pretty epic.

E3 2016: Resident Evil VII: Beginning Hour Impressions

resident-evil-7-headerWarner Bros wasn’t the only company to release a demo to the public at E3. Capcom also showed the first trailer for Resident Evil VII: Biohazard (apparently titles Biohazard VII: Resident Evil in Japan) and released a demo alongside it. While it’s not a huge demo, it’s definitely a promising start for the new Resident Evil.

E3 2016: Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens Demo Impressions

lego-star-wars-the-force-awakens-headerMost people have to go all the way to Los Angeles to try slices of upcoming games at E3. Some companies, though, have made demos of their games available to the general public so you don’t have to be one of the permitted few that are allowed to see games up close before they reach your living room. One of those companies is Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment who gave us a short, early look at their upcoming Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Game of Thrones: No One Review

game-of-thrones-no-one-headerWith next week being the generally epic and iconic Episode Nine of the season, this week’s episode was tasked with closing up some plots and setting up others for the season finale. Surprisingly, it was the storylines that were building toward episode ten that were more satisfying than the parts of the episode that wrapped up an existing story. Continue reading

Game of Thrones: The Broken Man Review

game-of-thrones-the-broken-man-headerNow that I’m thinking about it, the title of this episode, The Broken Man, works on a literal level. Each storyline featured a male character that is broken in some role. Jaime is missing a hand. Theon is mentally broken. The Mountain might have lurked in the background but he’s a zombie and you could make the argument that Jon Snow is as well. The title is surprisingly on the nose. Well, at least we got Bronn back.

Game of Thrones: Blood of My Blood Review

game-of-thrones-blood-of-my-blood-headerLast week, everybody was left crying at the conclusion of Game of Thrones. This week, there was far less crying and even a few exciting, fist-pumping moments that were balanced out by some pretty intriguing twists. Sadly, no Littlefinger to bring us those plot twists. Westeros’s other resident master schemer did, though.

RBI Baseball 16 Review: Texas Leaguer

rbi-baseball-16-headerWhile it’s one of the big four sports, baseball fans have gotten a pretty raw deal when it comes to video games. For the last three years, there hasn’t been a triple-A multi-platform baseball game. Since 2K let their MLB license expire, the only triple-A baseball game has been Sony’s MLB: The Show series. Over the last couple of years, Major League Baseball has taken it upon themselves to try to fill the gap in the market by publishing their own multi-platform baseball game with a revival of the classic baseball franchise RBI Baseball.

The Walking Dead: Michonne – Episode Three Review: We Deserve Better

the-walking-dead-michonne-episode-three-headerAfter a short couple of months, Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Michonne miniseries reaches its conclusion with Episode Three: What We Deserve. If you’ve read reviews of or played the first two episodes, you would know that Telltale is really struggling to capture the essence of one of The Walking Dead’s trademark characters. That’s still apparent in the final third of TWD: Michonne. To use an in-universe metaphor: It’s stumbling home like it’s a walker.
