eugenie bouchard nike 1Thank goodness the weekend is here again! There are a few releases in cinemas this week as Michael Bay’s 13 Hours takes on the comedy Ride Along 2 in hopes of challenging for the crown at the box office. Seriously though, are they really gonna top Star Wars? Meanwhile in Australia, I’m gearing up for the Australian Open on Monday, so I’m gonna kick off the ELO with fellow Canadian, Eugenic Bouchard.

After the jump, Oscar nominations are out, Pacific Rim 2 ain’t dead because of China, surprise Cloverfield-related trailer, and enjoy a Carpool Karaoke session with Adele.

Rough start to the entertainment biz in 2016. First was the surprise passing of music legend David Bowie. Now acting icon Alan Rickman has passed away as well after losing his battle to cancer. Let’s take a moment to remember the actor through some wonderful work he’s done over the years. (Slashfilm)

Looks like 2016 won’t be a better year for Marvel’s first family as Fantastic Four is getting shelved… at least for the time being. (Slashfilm)

The Oscar nominations are out and they’re showing a lot of love for Mad Max: Fury Road and The Revenant but there were still plenty of noteworthy snubs. Aside from the best supporting actor nod for Sly in Creed, what about the director Ryan Coogler or lead actor Michael B. Jordan? Heck, even Ridley Scott got ignored for his work on The Martian! (The New York Times)

On the other end of the spectrum, there’s the Razzies, as they show a lot of “love” for films like 50 Shades of Grey and Fantastic Four. (ABC)

Kevin Hart is a cute little fluffy rabbit named Snowball in The Secret Life of Pets.

Maybe Michael Bay has learned his lesson from Pearl Harbor because 13 Hours is actually generating positive response. Anyway, Honest Trailers tackles the former and of course, does a wonderful job skewering the film.
