I like changing up my desktop wallpaper on a regular basis. My wallpaper at work is even a slideshow so I have a new wallpaper every thirty minutes to change things up ever so slightly. So to help you change things up for your work week, I’ve scoured Flickr for five wallpapers that are worth adding to your collection for this week. And since today is Jackie’s birthday, it’s an all Australia edition of WOTW.
Photo removed at request of photographer who feels a link isn’t credit. I could’ve been a thief and downloaded the picture without giving any acknowledgement whatsoever to the original photographer. Like they say, no good deed goes unpunished.
Steve all the images you have posted have reserved rights. It’s not difficult to understand and most people have the good manners to ask first.

Most people also don’t complain. From my perspective, I’m driving clicks to you through the link to you. I’ve been doing this blogging thing for a while and standard practice is credit through giving a link. The primary beneficiary of these WOTW posts are the photographers. The number of clicks on links are greater than the page views 19 times out of 20. I had two views of this post before today. That’s actually a high page view count for WOTW posts.
So help me out here. How do you want credit? I literally throw these posts together in less than five minutes on the Saturday before it goes live. I go on Flickr, click on interesting photos from the last 7 days, pick five good looking ones and post them here with a link back to the original. If there’s no way to give you credit without exponentially increasing the time put into these posts then I’ll have to discontinue this because the benefit for added time isn’t there for me.

Steve, there’s a few useful sites that can help with this. Nottingham University in the UK have created Xpert at http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/xpert/attribution/ This allows you to search flickr for Creative commons photo’s then builds the relevant code that links the photo and attributes correctly for you to paste into your blog or site.

Thanks for the help. I’ll give that a try for the next wallpapers post.
