We’re a day late and a dollar short but it’s now time for this week’s Worst of Music. Surprisingly, I haven’t given a WoM to this week’s winner on the blog before but I know he’s won the WoM on the podcast. It has been well established that I hate what people currently refer to as dance music and autotune. So it shouldn’t come as a surprise that this week’s WoM is a dance song by David Guetta called Little Bad Girl.
This song just screams awful in the first ten seconds. First is the 8-bit backing music which sounds worse than most music in NES games. Second is the Guetta autotune. Third is Guetta calling himself a bad boy within the first six words of the song. Add to that the fact that he can’t say “air” or “there” and Dave seems like a real winner. And what the fuck is with changing the rotation of the Earth? Not only is it physically impossible for 100 extras slide to change the Earth’s rotation but they can’t slide that far on the beach either. And he actually says “coy” in the song and he might actually be using it correctly rather than just to rhyme… So partial credit for busting out a rhyming dictionary there. And at least Luda is good… Even if he’s only attaching his name to shit now.
So congrats, Dave and friends. You’ve won the prestigious Worst of Music award for this week.
