Comic-Con season is finally here! Fanboys and fangirls everywhere will be crowding around San Diego for a weekend full of nerdism. Aside from the latest buzz on our favourite superheroes, there will be plenty of panels for current and new TV shows as well as upcoming film releases. Since this is such a popular event, it would be appropriate for studios to release new trailers for movies that will be hitting a theatre near you. Remember to check back regularly as this will be updated as we go along!
Ninja Assassin (November 25, 2009): First up is Ninja Assassin. The film starring Korean superstar Rain has had a lot of buzz surrounding it (especially after seeing that bloody promo picture). The plot might be a bit simple, but what do you expect from a movie that primarily focuses on the crazy stunts and action?

The Book of Eli (January 15, 2010): Up next is post-apocalyptic tale The Book of Eli starring Denzel Washington. The story focuses on a lone man who fights his way across America in order to protect a sacred book that holds the secrets to saving humankind. I’m a sucker for post-apocalypic films, so I’m in. Plus it does have some eye candy courtesy of Mila Kunis. Oh did I mention that we get to see Denzel kick ass?

Whiteout (September 11, 2009): Based on the comic book with the same name, Whiteout is a murder thriller that takes place in the cold and barren Antarctica. The film has been shelved for a while, but it’s finally hitting the screens this September! Whiteout did get a stamp of approval from the author of the graphic novel Greg Rupka, so it might be worth checking out. If you’re not into the story, there’s always Kate Beckinsale there to distract you from whatever is going on.

Alice in Wonderland (March 5, 2010): When I first saw the promo pictures from Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, I was a little freaked out by the images. Maybe it’s a bit too colourful for me. Anyway, looks like it’ll be a fun ride and Johnny Depp is quite convincing as The Mad Hatter.

Tron Legacy (2010): Walt Disney Pictures have finally released the official teaser trailer for Tron Legacy! While many of you have already seen the teaser clip from last year’s Comic-Con, you can finally check out the clip in high quality! This entire sequence was shot as a test footage, but since it was so good, Disney decided to display it for the fans at the convention last year. I must say, it is quite impressive and I’m pumped to see this next year… in 3D!

UPDATED:
Spartacus: Blood and Sand (January 2010): This trailer is for an upcoming TV series. Starz is really boosting their programming. The network will be releasing a new show “Spartacus: Blood and Sand” at the beginning of the new year. To those that are expecting the grand film that Kubrick made… well… you might be somewhat disappointed. To those that loved 300 and its stylized bloody action + random sex scenes, this show will suit your needs. This big budget production does look like a fun ride and perhaps it can provide some alternative programming to the struggling series on network TV.
