If you didn’t know what Article 39.1 of the F1 Sporting Regulations was before this race, you will now. The race looked like it would be a Ferrari 1-2 with Felipe Massa leading Fernando Alonso. But then the call went out on the radio: “Fernando is faster than you. Can you confirm that you understood that?” A couple of laps later saw Massa inexplicably slow out of the hairpin and Alonso cruise by en route to victory. F1 Bahrain GP: Header Cracking Fun
For the first half of the race, it seemed as though we were in for a season-long passing of the torch. Sebastian Vettel stormed away from the field in a race that quickly settled in as a procession. Then a funny thing happened. Vettel’s car fell well off the pace and Fernando Alonso charged by to win his first race in a Ferrari. Alonso may have won the day but the big winner was Felipe Massa who finished a solid second in his first race back from injury. Formula 1: Valencia Testing Recap
The start of February meant the end of the moratorium on testing in Formula One. Seven of the thirteen teams entered in the 2010 World Championship were at the Circuito Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain, to shakedown their cars. All of the teams there were in the 2009 Championship. There were teams looking to build on last year’s success and others looking for a complete turnaround. F1 Japanese GP: Domination Is Now Spelled “Vettel”
With the Drivers’ Championship within his reach, Jenson Button wasn’t able to close the deal at one of his best tracks. Likewise, Brawn GP fumbled their chance to lock up the Constructors Title in Japan. Despite having a pretty difficult weekend between their two teams, Red Bull was able to score a win with Sebastian Vettel taking the checkered flag from pole.
