Sunday Link-Off: A Call To Action

It’s the end of the week. It’s go time for links. Conveniently enough, it’s also go time for the Italian Grand Prix so you’re probably not reading this immediately upon posting. Anyway, since we’re supporters of increasing the popularity of Canadians on the internet, here’s Rachelle Goulding.

I like to think that what we link on these linkdump posts are fact-checking links. However, it’s close so here’s a very detailed look at why Romney and Ryan must be defeated this November. (Kurt Eichenwald)

Documentary film maker Michael Moore has also weighed in with a call to action for people to do what they can to prevent a Romney presidency. (MichaelMoore.com)

The Republicans jumped on President Obama after the recent underwhelming job report. They didn’t mention that their obstructionist politics prevented a further job creation promotion plan from being passed. They’re too busy playing politics to actually try to help America. (Think Progress)

After the jump, an in-depth examination of Bill Clinton’s convention speech, a proper examination of why gay marriage isn’t evil and the Parks & Rec gag reel.

And now back to fact checking. Did you know that Paul Ryan, who wants to repeal Obamacare, was more than happy to ask for Obamacare money? Not even slightly hypocritical. (The Nation)

Much of Bill Clinton’s original DNC speech was cut to save time. He just went ahead and re-inserted that and extended it some more. Here’s a comparison of the text on the teleprompter and what Bubba actually said. (The Atlantic Wire)

Bill Clinton was the best speaker at last week’s Democratic Convention. How exactly is he such a great speaker? (Politico)

How good was Bill with actually using facts in his DNC speech? The AP started pushing their own agenda in their fact-checking article. (Indecision)

The Republicans asked people on Twitter if they were better off now or four years ago. The overwhelming majority say now. (The Daily Dot) Even I could have told them that was a bad idea. Twitter is not populated solely by old white men who make over $250,000 per year.

Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe penned a brilliant letter about gay marriage on Friday. It’s about time someone pointed out that legalizing gay marriage won’t magically make everyone gay. (Deadspin)

Boston University has launched an investigation into the school’s hockey team and found a  sexually entitled culture. Coming from a junior hockey town where three players have been charged with sexual assault, it’s about time more people found out about this. (Boston Globe)

I thought I had a different perspective on The Newsroom but here’s one suggesting it’s a remake of NewsRadio. (SplitSider) The irony is that The Newsroom reignited my desire to be in the news media which was originally started by NewsRadio.

Crash Team Racing for the PS1 is considered one of the all-time great carting video games. We all thought that a sequel would never happen but leaked screenshots indicate that CTR 2010 was in development before the plug was pulled. (Joystiq)

Let’s do a couple of galleries before the YouTuberry. First, it’s a collection of cheesy WWF promo photos. (With Leather)

And here’s a collection of funny local news graphics. (UPROXX)

Here’s the Parks & Rec season four gag reel. It’s awesomely NSFW.

And our last video of the day is a series of Family Feud fails. Survey says!
