Entertainment Link-Off: Laugh at the Face of Danger

Time for the Entertainment Link-Off once again. This weekend at the movies, you can catch the horror flick Paranormal Activity 3. Alternatively, there’s also The Three Musketeers 3D. Better yet, for comedy fans, Rowan Atkinson is back as Johnny English in Johnny English Reborn. I had a chance to see this flick a month back and I have to say, despite the rather predictable plot, the film was good for its physical comedy. Oh it also helps that Rosamund Pike is in the movie too!

After the jump, Hungary has a bizarre way of financing films, David Fincher doesn’t want the world to see Scarlett Johansson naked, iPhone can make good quality videos, some sequel news, catch the new music video from pop group Girls’ Generation and a nice little video on getting friend-zoned!

Bizarre news of the week. Hungary is planning to tax its porn films to pay for ‘regular’ films. You know the porn industry is the real money maker when… (Slashfilm)

Now we know why Rooney Mara was cast in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. David Fincher did not cast Scarlett Johansson in the film because there are too many fanboys wanting to see her naked. (Vogue)

Apparently some of the shots for The Avengers were done on the iPhone! Whodathunkit? If that’s the case… I guess we don’t need fancy cameras to make movies now huh? Apparently these shots made it to the trailer as well. Can you spot it? (Comic Book Movie)

The new video game Batman: Arkham City is not only a hit among the critics, the fans are also raving about the game. Well as much fun as it would be to beat up bad guys, perhaps it’ll be more entertaining to tackle the issues in Gotham as Batman’s trusty companion/butler Alfred. (Dorkly)

Another video game adaptation is on the way… maybe. Sony Pictures plans to adapt Assassin’s Creed on the big screen. Let’s hope one of these days, a good video game movie will hit theatres! (Collider)

More on the Fast and the Furious sequels. Films #6 and 7 just might end up sharing a single storyline! (LA Times)

Speaking of sequels… could there be more Transformers flicks in the works? (The Hollywood Reporter)

So much for a Zombieland sequel to hit theatres… seems like a TV show based on the film is in development instead. (NY Mag)

It’s true what they say, Hugh Jackman definitely had the best line in the film X-Men: The First Class. Here’s a behind the scenes look at his cameo in the film. (The Sun)

The red band trailer for A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas is all kinds of inappropriate, but it’s silly fun. (IGN)

Another reason to go see Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol in theatres! A 6 minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises will be attached to the film when it hits theatres in December! (Slashfilm)

10 fun facts about Ridley Scott’s Alien that you may not know. (io9)

In Hollywood, defamation lawsuits pop up frequently due to lies and rumours popping up. Who knew telling the truth you land you in hot water this time? An anonymous actress is suing IMDB for $1 million for revealing her age! (The Hollywood Reporter)

Maybe airing the World Series isn’t worth it for FOX anymore. The current matchup isn’t exactly entertaining and they’re pushing off whatever new hits they got (*ahem* New Girl) to make room for the games. Here’s to hoping there won’t be a ratings erosion for the show since I quite like it! (Entertainment Weekly)

It’s battle of the Tweets between Maroon 5 lead singer Adam Levine and the folks at FOX News. It all started with Levine tweeting, “Dear Fox News, don’t play our music on your evil f–king channel ever again. Thank you.” In defense, the guys at FOX News made various comments on how Maroon 5’s music is crap. So did they just admit that they were using crap music? I think Levine won this battle. (Entertainment Weekly)

Eye candy alert! Korean super girl group Girls’ Generation are back with their third album The Boys. The thumping, catchy title track was released in both Korean and in English earlier this week. Have a look at the girls ‘bringing the heat’ in their latest music video.

This latest video from Kevjumba could have easily made it to one of Steve’s man lab entries, but it fits well in an ELO as well. Here’s a hilarious short on getting ‘friend-zoned’ by girls. Oh I should point out that the video also features actress Jamie Chung.
