I’m back! No shitty movie weekend to off-load to Steve, so I suppose it is appropriate that I take over the ELO once again. Sure there’s the awful looking film The Internship, which was hoping to relight that chemistry Vince Vaughan and Owen Wilson had from Wedding Crashers. On the other hand, perhaps you can catch Joss Whedon channel his inner Shakespeare with Much Ado About Nothing. That one is getting rave reviews all across the board. To kick off this ELO though, I’m going to jump ahead a little bit and start off with the leading lady from Man of Steel. Here’s the always lovely Amy Adams.
After the jump, Google can predict how much a movie is going to make, first look at a new character in The Hobbit, M. Night Shyamalan wrote a teen movie that we all didn’t hate, Dan Harmon hopes to marathon Community season 4 this weekend and let The Lonely Island and Alanis Morissette teach you something about semicolons (or not).
Looks like Google can predict box office results with 94% accuracy! (The Hollywood Reporter)
Joss Whedon is pissed off that there is a lack of female superheroes in film. (The Daily Beast)
It’s complicated in the filmmaking business. In order to get in on a piece of the action in Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar, Warner Brothers gave up part of its rights in Friday the 13th and South Park. (The Hollywood Reporter)
First look at Evangeline Lilly’s role in The Hobbit as Tauriel. Doesn’t sound familiar? That’s because the character didn’t exist in the books. (Entertainment Weekly)
The red band trailer for The To-Do List starring Aubrey Plaza is out. The cast is quite impressive and there are enough chuckles in the trailer to warrant a viewing of this movie. Plus, Bill Hader and Rachel Bilson’s bit at the end was awkwardly hilarious. (Yahoo)
The poster for Escape Plan starring Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Scharzenegger is out. The aging action stars failed to make a big splash with their own solo films this year, so maybe a team up of the two would bring them better luck. (Collider)
The World War Z music video for Muse’s Isolated System reveals a few more footage from the summer blockbuster. (Yahoo UK)
M. Night Shyamalan’s career trajectory has been on a nosedive for the past 10+ years or so and his latest effort After Earth hasn’t helped things at all. In an interview, he revealed a certain teen rom-com that he ghost-wrote. It’s certainly everyone’s favourite back in the good ol’ 90s. (Movies.com)
Dan Harmon is scheduled to start working on Community season 5 this Monday but he hasn’t watched anything from season 4 yet! It’s hard to blame him since he was unceremoniously booted from the series last year. Let’s hope he breathes some life back into the fantastic comedy series. (Zap2it)
I suppose there will be some sort of quasi-Community reunion when Gillian Jacobs and Chevy Chase are going to appear in Hot Tub Time Machine 2 together. (Deadline)
Season 4 of Arrested Development came out not too long ago and was met with mixed reactions from fans. The show was also done out of sequence leading everyone to slowly piece it all together. Well looks like one fan has already rearranged everything in order. (The AV Club)
It might be a cheesy reality/game show series on a relatively unheard of cable network, but it is quite amusing to see people recreate famous movie scenes and watch Dolph Lundgren dress up in ridiculous costumes. (Slashfilm)
Selena Gomez and Ethan Hawke team up for an action packed joy ride in Getaway.
Just what the marketing push needs. The final Man of Steel trailer is slim on dialogue and heavy on the music and visuals.
The Lonely Island team up with Alanis Morissette for their new song Semicolon.
I’m sure you’ve all seen the fan reactions from the Red Wedding on Game of Thrones, well now the faux George. R.R. Martin responds to the fan backlash.
