Entertainment Link-Off: Pain and Gain

megan fox sharper image 1It’s testosterone galore at the theatres this weekend with Michael Bay’s Pain and Gain hitting the screens. Meanwhile over in Australia, you get to check out Iron Man 3 instead! Not a bad weekend at all. Anyway, don’t really know who to start off this week’s ELO with, so here’s one of Michael Bay’s former favourite, Megan Fox.

After the jump, the future of Iron Man is up in the air, first look at Thor: The Dark World, Kickstarter has another big project, an interesting America’s Got Talent audition gone wrong and watch Patton Oswalt channel his inner Penguin.

Given that Iron Man 3 has already released overseas, I got a chance to check out the film and it was a satisfying conclusion to the Iron Man series. Even Gwyneth Paltrow says there won’t be a part 4. (Bleeding Cool)

No alcoholism storyline in Iron Man 3 because it’s not family friendly enough. (Comic Book Movie)

First look at Thor: The Dark World. (Apple)

Joss Whedon talks about the progress with Avengers 2. He reveals a tidbit on who might be appearing in the sequel and also discusses about the resurrection of Agent Coulson. (Yahoo)

Well we all saw Clark Gregg’s Agent Coulsen get offed in The Avengers, so you must be wondering, how is he returning to Marvel universe in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D? Well at least now they give a proper explanation. (Collider)

So Iron Man 3 will have an exclusive version released in China with some bonus footage featuring some better known Chinese actors. Marvel insist that it will carry an element of surprise but what’s more surprising is that it seemed like director Shane Black was not very involved in the process at all. (Slashfilm)

With the ways things are headed, could Zack Snyder be the one heading for the director’s chair in Justice League? (Screen Crush)

Everytime a movie has “based on a true story” attached to it, you know Hollywood has taken liberties with the source material. This time, let’s look at the difference between the Michael Bay film Pain and Gain and the real Sun Gym Gang. (Slashfilm)

The new Pacific Rim poster looks pretty sweet. (Superhero Hype)

Maybe Kickstarter is the way to go. Zach Braff is killing it with his campaign to make his film Wish I Was Here. (Deadline)

The Vacation reboot has been halted due to a dispute over the film’s rating. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Well this is awkward. Howie Mandel catches a comedian stealing someone else’s material in the audition rounds of America’s Got Talent. (Slashfilm)

Sad news, Futurama cancelled again. (Washington Post)

TV viewership has dipped and networks are looking at pilots to bring some eyeballs back to the boob tube. (LA Times)

Well if you enjoyed the first film Red, you’ll definitely like Red 2 since it pretty much features more old people in awesome action sequences and lots of explosions. Too  bad there’s no Morgan Freeman this time around, but at least Anthony Hopkins looks like he’s having a blast.

Watch Batman take on Patton Oswalt as The Penguin.

Music recommendation of the week. Here is the latest music video “Gone” from Kina Grannis.

Oh while we’re on the topic of music, check out Michael Bublé surprising New Yorkers with a special performance on the subway.
