emma watson gqNot much competition in theatres this weekend. First you get the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park. Then there’s the remake of Evil Dead. Horror fans should be delighted now that they upped the ante on the gore and violence compared to the Sam Raimi original. Anyway, not sure who to kick off the latest ELO with, so here’s Emma Watson from her latest GQ spread. 

After the jump, a look at Roger Ebert’s legacy, a man picked apart a movie trailer just to get his movie ticket money back, watch Weird Al get axed, Jack the Giant Killer lost a lot of money, an update on the Veronica Mars movie and watch Seth Rogen and friends tackle the end of the world.

Sad news for the movie world. Film critic Roger Ebert has passed away this week at the age of 70. Whether you agree or disagree with what he has to say, you gotta appreciate his openness to dialogue for any subject matter that he touches. His reviews were always fun to read and he is certainly one of the most influential film critics out there. He will be missed. (Chicago Sun Times)

A disgruntled New Zealand moviegoer filed a complaint against Paramount for its misleading ad for Jack Reacher. Apparently a key “explosion” scene featured in the movie trailer didn’t make the final cut of the film, resulting in the complaint. Of course Paramount decided to refund the man the ticket since it probably wasn’t worth going to the courts over that one. (Telegraph)

This weekend marks the 3D re-release of Jurassic Park. While discussing about the film, there is a minor tease on what to expect for Jurassic Park 4. (USA Today)

With the Fast and Furious franchise becoming a major global hit, Universal is looking to rush a sequel into theatres soon after the release of Fast and Furious 6. Bad news? Justin Lin, the director of the films 3-6 will not be taking part in the next movie due to scheduling issues. (Hollywood Reporter)

Ouch! Don’t you just hate it when big budget blockbusters bomb at the box office? The John Carter of 2013 goes to Jack and the Giant Killer as its looking to be a $100+ million write off for the studio. (Slashfilm)

This feels like the Conan fiasco all over again. Jimmy Fallon is slated to take over The Tonight Show while Jay Leno is shown the door again. So… when do we expect the new Tonight Show to fail and bring Leno back into the fold? (Deadline)

Check out the red band trailer for the star-studded comedy This is the End starring Seth Rogen and Jay Baruchel. Everyone is playing some version of themselves in the middle of a crazy apocalypse. Looks like lots of laughs will be had in the cinemas this summer.
