Entertainment Link-Off: Bite the Dust

At the movies this weekend, there will be no competition for those sparkling vampires in Twilight. Just go watch Skyfall instead if you haven’t had the chance ya? That being said, there is still eye candy to be seen in the vamp flicks, so let’s start this off with Ashley Greene shall we?

After the jump, a few trailers to check out, Transformers actually moving to China this time (maybe), Tarantino setting a retirement point, GRR takes on JRR, learn how to make Chef’s Chocolate Salty Balls and watch TBBT do Call Me Maybe.

The first trailer for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones is out. The link comes with a commentary of the trailer which reveals that the filming was only wrapped a few days ago and the CG in the preview is not entirely complete. Even then, at least this film adaptation of a teen supernatural series seems a bit better than a certain one that is in theatres now… (Slashfilm)

Well we know IMAX viewers would get an exclusive 9 minute clip for Star Trek Into Darkness when they visit Middle Earth again on December 14th. The good news for those that aren’t watching it on the supersized screen is that you can still catch the brand spankin’ new trailer at a normal screening of The Hobbit. (Trek Movie)

The next Transformers film might be taking place in China. What happened to that space plan again? (Vulture)

Quentin Tarantino might want to leave a legacy in film that’s untainted. He may have suggested that he’ll stop directing once he hits 10 films. Be warned fans, Django Unchained will be his 8th if you count the Kill Bill films as two separate entities. (Slashfilm)

With Twilight done, perhaps the next film fangirls can turn their attention to is The Host, which is also penned by the same author. As much as I would like to trash this film as well, I have to say, the second half of this trailer looks somewhat promising. (MTV)

Well since I’m on the topic of that vampire series, Break Dawn Part 2 might have the biggest opening for the franchise despite the midnight screenings not generating that much. Not a shocker here. For those who hate the series, a trip to the theatre just to watch that faux ending sequence might be worth it though! (LA Times)

The teaser trailer for the sci-fi thriller Europa is out. This found-footage type flick about finding life on the moon of Jupiter might be rather intriguing. Let’s hope it won’t fall flat like Apollo 18. (The Film Stage)

Check out the real version of the deserted island in Skyfall. Despite its failure to keep people there in the long run, the stuff built there is quite impressive. (Slashfilm)

It’s GRR against JRR. Listen to what George R.R. Martin has to say about who would win in the battles that pit his Game of Thrones characters against those from Lord of the Rings. (io9)

NBC is looking to rebrand its comedy lineup. Gone are the good ol’ days of its hit Thursday night comedies huh? (TV Guide)

Why doesn’t Syfy have a show like Battlestar Galactica anymore? (io9)

If you’re curious, you can see how JJ Abrams and Eric Kripke pitched the idea of Revolution to the folks at NBC. (Entertainment Weekly)

This gotta put a smile to your face. The cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory decided to do a surprise flash mob to Call Me Maybe.

Fans of South Park, a lesson to make a modified version of Chef’s Chocolate Salty Balls.

After finding out that Kristen Stewart cheated on him, it seems like Robert Pattinson is having trouble focusing on set for the Breaking Dawn film. Ok, so this ain’t real but it can provide a good laugh.
