Entertainment Link-Off: Back for War

The old action stars are back this weekend for another installment of The Expendables. With a movie so filled with testosterone, it would be appropriate to plug in a female actress. So let’s kick it off with the only female Expendable Yu Nan.

After the jump, a few action movie trailers to check out, Shia LaBeouf claims one of his next films will feature real sex, JJ Abrams doesn’t believe in big budget films, David Cronenberg hates comic book movies, Joss Whedon starts an online ‘feud’ and new music video from AJ Rafael.

There will be a female in the Expendables crew, so take some time to learn 10 facts about Chinese star Yu Nan. (Heavy)

Watch Ah-nold back in his element in the trailer for The Last Stand. Seems like a fun silly actioner taking place in that same ol’ small town Thor was in… oh wait. (Apple)

Not to be out-classed by Ah-nold, Sylvester Stallone also has a new trailer for his next new flick. Take a look at him battling Jason Mamoa in Bullet in the Head. (IGN)

If one red-band trailer wasn’t enough, here’s another one for The Man with the Iron Fists. (Yahoo)

Now we know Shia LaBoeuf likes to speak before he thinks it through, so this time he blabbered about something regarding real sex taking place in Lars von Trier’s next film Nymphomaniac. Believe or not to believe? (Gawker)

Feeling a bit nostalgic? The trailer for ’10 Years’ has arrived. It’s another high school reunion movie… minus the gross out humour. I don’t know about you, but I don’t think people are really that hung up on their high school years as the movies make it. Anyway, the cast is pretty darn good, so it might be worth the price of admission. (Yahoo)

JJ Abrams thinks movies are getting a little too pricey. While he has made a few big budget films himself, he has also managed to produce some lower budget entertaining fares. Should studios abandon spending boatloads into money losing spectacles like John Carter and Battleship? If Cloverfield or Super 8 are any indication, perhaps Abrams is onto something. (LA Times)

Speaking of Hollywood forking out money, are big-budget film reshoots becoming a dangerous trend? (Hollywood Reporter)

Ngawww! A special Alias reunion pic. (The Insider)

More reasons to go see Fast Six. The Rock offers a first look at Gina Carano in the film. (Slashfilm)

Looks like the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman will just be focused on the Huntsman. I’m sure that Kristen Stewart scandal had something to do with this. (The Hollywood Reporter)

In an interview with David Cronenberg, he has revealed what he truly thinks of superhero films. I suppose it’s safe to say he won’t be next in line to direct anything from the Marvel or DC Universe anytime soon. (Next Film)

Like the other audience members out there, I walked out of Prometheus with a few questions and felt somewhat disappointed as well. While it was far from being a bad film, perhaps it was the hype that brought it down. Anyway, the theatrical cut didn’t quite contain everything it seems as the blu-ray release is set to feature 35 minutes of deleted footage! The title of some of these segments are rather interesting… I wonder why they hit the cutting room floor. (Slashfilm)

This is purely speculation, but would a Walking Dead feature film tickle your fancy? (Bloody Disgusting)

Poor Joss Whedon. His tiny little film The Avengers is barely playing on 200 screens in the States right now and is currently $40 million short of being the second highest grossing film of all time. As he feels threatened by the film Sleepwalk with Me, he has decided to speak out against it. Hilarious stuff. Check it out.

Of course this faux internet war ain’t over. Mike Birbiglia bites back at Joss Whedon.

A bit spoilerishy, but Jimmy Kimmel had to ask Joseph Gordon-Levitt the big question regarding the end of The Dark Knight Rises.

AJ Rafael has released the music video for his song ‘500 Days’. It is heavily influenced by the flick 500 Days of Summer. Check it out.
