Whachya gonna do Denver? Whachya gonna do when Vince McMahon runs wild on you? That’s the question being asked after the NBA booked game four of the Western Conference finals at Denver’s Pepsi Centre on May 25th. The only problem is that, back in August of ’08, Nuggets and Pepsi Center owner Stan Kroenke booked an episode of WWE’s Monday Night Raw for the same night. Like an NBA game, Raw broadcasts live every Monday. Now we have a battle worthy of a Hell in a Cell match.
Of course, McMahon is never one to take a back seat in big matters such as this. While Kroenke’s people put out a press release saying that they were working with the WWE do resolve the scheduling conflict, Vince went on ESPN. As usual, Vince was not short for words.
(And kudos to Jonathan Coachman for admitting that he used to work for the WWE. Not many others would admit the same.)
No word yet on how the conflict might be resolved but we do know that the WWE has to fill its timeslot on the USA network (The Score in Canada). McMahon says that he can’t cancel his show because of how much is involved in producing a live television event. He even joked that they would consider holding the event in a parking lot.
We were able to dig up some preview images of next Monday’s Raw should the WWE roll into the Pepsi Center.
