Worst of Music: Celine Dion – My Heart Will Go On

For this week’s WoM, I thought that we should go with a timeless classic love song. And by timeless classic, I mean a song that would make the all-time list of bad songs. Before Avatar came out a couple years ago, Titanic was the highest grossing movie of all-time. Its theme song was Celine Dion’s My Heart Will Go On. Lots of women like it but those are mostly those who like easy listening music/ The rest of world, and especially Canada, hates this song with a passion. Therefore, it’s only appropriate that this is our Valentine’s Day worst of music.

I doubt very much that you need my reasoning behind naming this song the worst love song of all-time. Celine Dion’s annoying whispery singing voice coupled with meaningless touchy-feely lyrics make you wish James Cameron never made Titanic. That way, we could have avoided the song that made Celine an international superstar. On behalf of Canada, I’m sorry about this.

So congrats, Celine. You’ve won the prestigious Worst of Music award for this week.
