Entertainment Link-Off: Robot Rumble

Tonight is the 2010 Video Game Awards on Spike. If you need a fresh reminder on the nominees, take a look at our predictions here. Plus, why wouldn’t you want to watch it when Neil Patrick Harris is hosting this? Anyway, kicking off this link-off is Kristen Bell. Yes she’s in the latest box office flop Burlesque, but on an unrelated note, she is nominated for her voice work in Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood at the Video Game Awards tonight.

After the jump Guillermo Del Toro wants you to see Scott Pilgrim, Michael Bay sorta apologizes for Revenge of the Fallen, more Transformers tidbits, new Thor trailer and poster and catch Inception in real time!

Now we know why NPH is looking for hosting gigs. He’s no longer satisfied with his work on How I Met Your Mother. The show is on a blatant creative decline and even the actors are starting to show their frustration. (Movieline)

Guillermo Del Toro has a message for all of you that haven’t seen Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. (Slashfilm)

It might be the booze talking but movie posters lately kinda suck. The MPAA might be at fault here since they also like to ban the cooler ones. (JoBlo)

Transformers fanatics, here’s the new teaser trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. (Apple)

In addition to the teaser trailer, more tidbits on the upcoming Transformers film! (Collider)

We all know the discovery of Transformers on the moon isn’t real, but Neil Armstrong took some time to explain why this is all impossible. (NPR)

In other robot action related news, the trailer for Shawn Levy’s Real Steel has hit the net. We all had our doubts about this movie, but the trailer looks surprisingly good. (Latino Review)

We can expect many changes since the release of Tron in 1982, but apparently the latest film adaptation is perhaps not the most accurate way of depicting what changes have actually taken place. Instead of a nice dark grid with sleek rides and outfits… turns out in 2010, it’s not as advanced as we like it to be… (Slashfilm)

10 fictional games that we wish were real. BASEketball would be quite awesome eh? (Rotten Tomatoes)

While we anticipate the release of Tron Legacy, here’s 7 fun facts about the movie you may or may not know already. (io9)

Here’s the music video for Daft Punk’s Derezzed. Not only does it do a throwback to the 80s world of Tron, it features Quorra!!! (io9)

This is a bit spoilery, so don’t click on the link if you don’t want the movie ruined for you. A surprise cameo in Tron Legacy may spell for a much larger role in the next film (assuming this one is a financial success). (Hey U Guys)

The latest Thor one-sheet looks pretty sleek. (Marvel)

Of course, when the new poster is released, you should also expect a new trailer as well. There isn’t much here compared to the clip from Comic-Con though. (Yahoo)

The CW is desperate for a hit, so they’re developing a quasi-Glee knockoff. At least it’s not going to take place in a high school! (NY Mag)

Starting a little rivalry between Modern Family and Glee? Well… Ed O’Neill wants to. (Entertainment Weekly)

Another win for Team Coco. Here’s the musical performance of the week. She & Him featuring Conan (sorta) with Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas. (TBS)

Did anyone catch the Christmas special episode of Community on Thursday night? If not, here’s 10 reasons you should have watched Abed’s Uncontrollable Christmas (in claymation!). (Entertainment Weekly)

If you’re a Smallville fan, there just might be a way for you to appear in an upcoming episode! (Zap2it)

Knowing Steve, he would want me to throw in this. Here’s a nice ‘Actors We Miss’ segment on Phil Hartman. (Moviefone)

We’ve seen all the infographics and artwork that highlight the dream levels in the film Inception. Now let’s take a look at how Christopher Nolan imagined it with his own handwritten map of the dream levels. (Cinema Blend)

The Glee cast rocks out at UK’s X-Factor. Amber Riley auditioned for American Idol at one point and didn’t even make it past the producers so she never got to sing in front of the judges. She certainly took this occasion to let Simon Cowell get a taste of what she had to offer.
