NFL Week 4 Picks

Finally after three weeks we are closer to knowing what is going in this league. For one we know that kickers suck and will always try to screw our teams and two there are a lot of terrible teams this year. That being said I like some underdogs this week. Anything can happen any given Sunday after all. Continue reading

Sunday Link-Off: I’m Han Solo

Since there wasn’t a Wednesday linkdump last week, I’ll try to make up for it with Sofia Vergara and Minka Kelly at the start of this one.

I don’t think the Celtics are going to go far this season (I call it The Shaq Effect) but I think this Nate Robinson guy has a future. He’s already pranking the team’s stars. (Red’s Army)

Coming soon to a free porn site near you is the Tiger Woods Sex Tape. I’ll believe it when I see it. (Radar Online)

Alex Anthopoulos came into the season as a rookie GM. With his first season at the helm of the Jays in the books, here’s a look back at his last year. (National Post)

After the jump, Ovechkin tops Crosby again, awesome celebrity endorsements and some amazing Star Wars songs (including the Han Solo song). Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: Let’s Be Facebook Friends!

It’s that time of the week for another installment of the Entertainment Link-Off. Two highly anticipated movies are released this weekend at the theatres, so it would be a good opportunity for a quasi-movie marathon don’t you think? First up is the vampire flick Let Me In. Then there’s also the unofficial Facebook movie The Social Network starring Jesse Eisenberg as Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg. The movie also features Rooney Mara playing Zuckerberg’s ex-girlfriend during his days at Harvard.

While we’re on the topic of Facebook. Don’t forget to like us on our Lowdown Facebook page!

After the jump, an awesome music recommendation, a few articles on The Social Network, Tron Legacy reshoots aren’t exactly a bad thing, alien-related movies galore and there’s a Scott Pilgrim related connection at Wong Fu Productions. Continue reading

OUA Morning Warmup: Week 6

All teams in the OUA are now in their second halves of the season this week. In action this week, only Western, Ottawa and McMaster have yet to have a bye week. After their lackluster performance last week, Western is probably wishing they had some time to regroup. As for the Gee-Gees and Marauders, they play the Toronto teams which is as near to a bye week as anyone can get while on the gridiron. The week’s final game sees Guelph seek a measure of redemption for their Week 5 egg-laying against Laurier. Continue reading

The Humanoids: From Downtown T.O.

This week’s abbreviated edition of The Humanoids is all about Toronto. I spent this week in the self-appointed Centre of the Universe and learned a few things about the town while I was down there. Let me preface this by saying that I don’t really hate Toronto. I only hate what it stands for… And I greatly dislike spending extended periods of time there. Continue reading
