Entertainment Link-Off: Worth the Wait

So I was away last week and Steve took over the Entertainment Link-Off once again in my absence. Anyway, I’m back with your weekly edition of the ELO. In theatres this weekend… well… there’s The Avengers! Oh wait, it’s not out in North America yet. Tough. In the meantime, I suppose you could go watch The Five Year Engagement featuring Emily Blunt.

After the jump a red band trailer for The Five Year Engagement, MTV Movie Awards getting a reboot, news on the development of Arrested Development, moviegoers like 3D, new look at Prometheus and a special interview with Jayesslee courtesy of comedian David So.

Now that’s a unique concept… Releasing a red band trailer that doesn’t really spoil the movie because it’s filled with deleted scenes. Have a look at the red band trailer for The Five Year Engagement to get an idea of the type of humour the film is going for. (Funny or Die)

The Amazing Spider-Man isn’t even out yet and the sequel talks have already begun. (Total Film)

The cast of New Girl congratulates FOX on being on the air for 25 years. (The TV Addict)

I used to love the MTV Movie Awards but lately I find my interest in the award show to be winding down. Well the good news is that this year’s festivities will have a bit of a reboot, but will it be any good? (The Hollywood Reporter)

First look at Ang Lee’s Life of Pi. Now the book was a good read, so I’m certainly hoping that the film adaptation will live up to expectations. (Slashfilm)

At least we know Olivia Wilde is up for another run at Tron as she makes a fun comment on her character Quorra. (Movies.com)

Simon Pegg and Edgar Wright making good progress on the script for The World’s End! (Twitter)

Now that’s a shocker… More and more moviegoers are preferring to go 3D. (Variety)

More reasons to go see The Dark Knight Rises in IMAX. The film will feature an hour’s worth of footage tailored for the extra big screen. (Entertainment Weekly)

After so many years, it’s nice to see that Arrested Development is being revived. Here are 5 things that we learn about the upcoming 4th season of the show. And yes, one of them involves the return of Bob Loblaw. (MTV)

More reasons to watch the next film in the Fast and the Furious franchise. Gina Carano is in talks to join the film! (The Hollywood Reporter)

Uh oh! The future of cinema in making films at 48 shots per minute might not be the best idea since the 10 minute preview screening of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey was a bit… underwhelming? (Slashfilm)

Just to wet our appetites a bit more, the new Prometheus making-of featurette features a few more tidbits from the movie!

On the trailer watch alert, there’s also a new international trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Based on this, it’s clear that Channing Tatum’s character won’t be appearing in this film all that much…

How The Hunger Games should have ended.

John Cusack and Jimmy Kimmel decide to drink hand sanitizer. Please don’t do this at home.

Getting to know your Youtubers better. David So launches his new webisode of Heart to Heart featuring Jayesslee.

An interesting new short to check out. Imagine two strangers meeting each other and bonding over a common scenario/situation. Though the ending isn’t quite always like the movies…
