Worst of Music: Justin Bieber – Never Say Never

What happens when you mix Justin Bieber with a hip-hop beat, autotune, uninspired lyrics written for a kids movie soundtrack and a 12-year-old kid as a featuring artist? You get this week’s Worst of Music. If the remake of Karate Kid wasn’t bad enough, Justin Bieber’s theme song for that movie was the icing on the remake cake. Anyway, let’s get the pain over with. It’s Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never. Continue reading

Steve’s Ridiculous 2011 NHL Trade Deadline Predictions

Every year, I do my ridiculous NHL mock draft which is half serious and half satire. I figured that it would be fun to do the same at the trade deadline. After all, when experts and reporters talk about deals at the trade deadline, they always think that teams will make deals that make sense for all involved. In reality, the NHL doesn’t work that way. Players have no-trade clauses in their contracts and some GMs have no sense whatsoever. So let’s take a fun look at this year’s NHL trade deadline. Continue reading

Sunday Link-Off: Deadline Day Prelude

I’ve never heard of Brazilian model Raica Oliveira before but I’m willing to bet we’ll hear from her again soon.

One of the biggest names in hockey trade rumours is Eklund of HockeyBuzz. He’s a pretty controversial figure among both the traditional and new media members but this piece by Adrian Dater is a refreshingly fair look at the anonymous hockey blogger. (Sports Illustrated)

In the world of TV media peddling trade rumours, Sportsnet’s Nick Kypreos really hates TSN. He tried to inform someone on of such on Twitter in what was probably supposed to be a DM. The only problem was that he didn’t DM his thoughts. (Pension Plan Puppets)

Tomorrow is the one year anniversary of the most important day in Canadian history since Henderson scored on September 28, 1972. So here’s another look at the anatomy of Sidney Crosby’s golden goal. (The Globe and Mail)

After the jump, Player X gets censored, Two and a Half Men (on the court and on TV) and a painful way to promote a golf tournament. Continue reading

Entertainment Link-Off: The Envelope Please

Since she’s one half of the Academy Awards hosting team, here’s Anne Hathaway.

The Oscars are this weekend. Obviously, Ricky Gervais won’t be allowed there. That hasn’t stopped him from writing a slip for the opening monologue for the show. (RickyGervais.com)

In fact, not only will Gervais not be at the Oscars, he won’t even be watching the show. (Hollywood Reporter)

And speaking of people not allowed at the Oscars, I’m going to guess Charlie Sheen won’t be allowed there. Hell, he’s not even allowed on CBS after the network shut down Two and a Half Men for the season. (HitFix)

After the jump, the latest details on some movies in development, the worst actors in Hollywood and leaked Two and a Half Men footage. Continue reading

The Best of Like A Little

Let’s add a new site to our ongoing best of the interweb series as an early Christmas gift. The site LikeALittle.com is just a couple of months old but it’s already gone viral. The site allows people to anonymously flirt and connect with random people they meet over the course of the day. The site is broken up by universities so for our first look at Like A Little, let’s look at the best of UWO’s Like A Little page. Continue reading

NHL Power Rankings: Week 21

It’s the last set of Power Rankings before the trade deadline. The problem is that the activity from the last couple of weeks would make you think that the trade deadline is earlier than February 28th. Short of Brad Richards getting traded, I’m not sure if there’s any major moves left to be made. Anyway, there’s a new team on top of the Power Rankings this team but it’s not like they haven’t been there before this season. Continue reading

Epic Meal Time – Fast Food Sushi

The gang at Epic Meal Time took a week off so we’re running a classic EMT episode that we haven’t put on the blog before. In this edition of Epic Meal Time, the crew takes the best items from the menus at McDonald’s, KFC, Taco Bell and Wendy’s, wraps them in bacon and makes fast food sushi. If only all fast food items could come as sushi. Continue reading

Wednesday Link-Off: Long Gone

For no real reason, here’s Paraguayan javelin thrower (SI Swimsuit model) Leryn Franco. In case you cared, this photo shoot was in Banff.

It’s been 10 years since the Vancouver Grizzles left Canada to go to Memphis… And still be called the Grizzlies. Anyway, here’s what some of your favourite Van Griz players have been upto in the meantime. (Vancouver Sun)

How big is the Mike Fisher trade? Even the Wall Street Journal looked at it and the Ottawa fans likening Carrie Underwood to Yoko Ono. (Wall Street Journal)

Top rated NBA prospect and Ohio State Buckeye Jared Sullinger became a viral hit when his off-key rendition of Party in the USA hit YouTube. Well, fans at Purdue heard it too and thought they should serenade him. (The Dagger)

After the jump, the making of a minute of Dead Space 2, how Google is revolutionizing the web browser again and the new Charles Barkley song. Continue reading

Formula One: 2011 Barcelona Test Recap

For the second straight test, the teams were overshadowed by off-track F1 news. This week’s testing played second fiddle to debate over the postponement of the Bahrain Grand Prix because of protests in the country. On-track, however, testing was a battle between Red Bull and Ferrari as last season’s two top teams look set to cement their place at the top of the standings. Continue reading
